Burle

Armchair

2009

This piece was created from a ‘briefing’ created by Sergio Rodrigues and Mila Rodrigues and is part of a launch that the company made during the 2009 Salão Casa Brasil in Bento Gonçalves. On that occasion, Schuster Móveis had hired designer Sergio Rodrigues to make a selection of six Brazilian designers to create a special collection entitled ‘Author’s Design’.
For the conception of this piece, the first drawings studied come from Burle Max’s lines, his landscape plans, his canvases and sidewalks that have already served as an influence on us on other occasions.
The result is a simple structure that uses exposed wood fittings and has a seat, back and structure with cuts made on the CNC (Computer Numerical Control Milling Machine) that recall the landscaper’s style that gives this piece its name.
The fittings generated, apparently complex if executed by traditional carpentry, are extremely simple when made by CNC and have an important function both from an aesthetic and structural point of view in this piece.
Once the cutting plan is created, the manufacturing of the parts and their assembly takes place simply and extremely quickly without the need for any manual cutting.
Sold exclusively by the company Móveis Schuster.
