Lattoog

Arpoador

Table Lamps

2010

The dome of this lamp is made up of wooden pieces whose curves are inspired by the Ipanema and Arpoador beach promenade. Places that are always very present in the lives of Lattoog designers and the people of Rio.

Arpoador is the name given to the stone located between the Copacabana fort and Ipanema beach in Rio de Janeiro. In the past, whale hunting with harpoons by Indians and Portuguese was common near the coast. Hence the place became known as Pedra do Arpoador.

From Arpoador you have one of the most beautiful views of the sunset in Rio de Janeiro. Nothing more appropriate than paying homage to this beautiful place with an object that illuminates.

“I wander on the desert moon of the stones of Arpoador…”
Cazuza. Song is Part of My Show from 1988.
